Drove past the Fairview this afternoon around 1 pm imagining the upcoming scene of the crime. Wished I could stick around to watch the curtains rise and witness the ensuing elegant chaos, but alas I had to return to the scene of an unrelated and unmentionable horror. Happy new year my amazing and beautiful artists and friends. Hope to enjoy your combined expression again one day soon. It's been too long.

ozmosis Tuesday, 27 September 2011 14:40
Hi Erick, "Snacks" is the Live CD we put out before "Ruby". I can burn you a copy if you like. We are playing at the Fairview Pub this New Year's. Hope to see you there. cool

Thanks guys for a fantastic gig last night at the Yale. Coming all the way from Australia, I was looking forward to a 'Yale experience', and you guys certainly didn't disappoint. You are one of the tightest, coolest and funkiest bands I've seen. And thanks for the CD - can't wait to give it a spin. I'll spread the word about Brickhouse when I get back down under. Thanks again.

eek! Ws so great...im looking for one of the songs played last night? Sounded like a foreign type of beginning. Loved it! Can someone give me the name of the song and if it is the previous cd or the new one?

OZmosis Friday, 23 September 2011 15:10
It was probably our new version of "Misery". We call it "Tribal Misery". The original version is on our last CD "Ruby" and a live version on the "Snacks" CD.

hey guys, a belated thanks for such a FAB cruise on Aug. 14! it was more than worth the trip to Vancouver, and we got some great video of a few songs.

we've just seen a notice in our local paper that you'll be in Kamloops on the 16th & 17th of September... we'll be there for both nights! (provided the paper is correct, of course big grin).

Thank you guys for the great show last night. Your music made our evening. It was Terry's birthday and we were out on the deck catching some rays and wondering where I could take her for dinner when your unmistakable sound hit us. She grabbed a sundress and ran out the door heading for the WAG to have "dinner with Brickhouse". When our waitress came over and Terry said we were hoping to be able to enjoy Don's favorite band, she said that she had just served you at the table next to us. We told her to give us a few minutes as we might be leaving.
We ran out the door and into the show. Paid our $20 in US money so we even caught a deal! We sat down under a large tree in front of Darryl and Ray.
For the first time at one of your shows we did not dance. I was wrapped around her keeping her warm, but if people can chair dance then we were doing our version on the grass.
Once the you guys played your last song, we realized we were cold, hungry and had some full bladders. We hurried home to a hot bath and killer bacon and eggs. Never tasted so good.
Have a great cruise. Thank you Oz for the CD. See you soon.

I'll be in town on Friday the 15th... its hard to tell from the Yale Calender if ya'll are playing late night. Are you? smile (Fingers crossed)

Laurie Sunday, 10 July 2011 00:57
Erick, I don't know if you got an answer privately, but we were in Vancouver in May to see both Brickhouse and Robin Banks at the Yale. May 6th & 7th were apparently the last two late nights ever at the Yale as they changed to a one-band only per night format.

Thank you for an amazing night at the Yale Hotel! I was the girl screaming the loudest after every song. Next time I'm dragging all my friends out so they can be converted to the Church of Good Music.

we had SO much fun on Friday (6th May) for my birthday at the Yale! too kind of you to wish me a happy one, Rob (I was rather blotto by then, but the silly kisses blown to you all were sincere even so big grin).

Sat/7th was great too, even with almost getting socked in the eye by an enthusiastic fan/dancer & spilled on by the many who were (oddly, IMO) milling about the dance floor sloshing their drinks around & just talking; fun memories even so. it's a bit sad to say goodbye to catching Brickhouse late-night at the Yale on Fri/Sat now, but onward & upward to new & great things, for Brickhouse's future!

nice to finally say hello in person to you two, Oz & Rob! I *know* we'll see you again, so will manage to catch each of the rest of you Brickhouse boys to say hello personally along the way.

I'm marking the date for the August blues cruise... what better than Vancouver on the water in August, if we can make it?? (though it's uncomfortably close to the PNE opening, and everybody knows it always rains that day).

anyway... thanks again guys - great Brickhouse memories & always looking forward to the *next* time we can party with you live. we so appreciate & enjoy all the talent, dedication, enthusiasm & great humour you each bring to your gigs! xo

Hey Rob !
Just heard you guys for the first time tonight. Really great stuff !
Wish I was out there to come check you out live.
You're a great singer and the whole band is super tight. (Neil's always been great so there's no surprise there !)

When does the disc come out and where can I get a copy ? (hopefully it doesn't say somewhere on the site that I haven't gotten to ! )
Say Hi to Neil for me.
Great music.

me again... happily, we made it to your Saturday night gig (April 2nd) at the Grotto in Kamloops after all. you guys packed the house & rocked it the whole night long! we stayed til the very end - another great Brickhouse experience - and picked up 'Ruby' while we were there. I'm listening to the album now, smiling & remembering what fun it was.

we're firm Brickhouse fans now... thanks for the excellent entertainment! looking forward to catching you live again, when possible.

so hoping we can see you at the Grotto in Kamloops this weekend! we first caught you guys at the Yale on March 20th... had such an excellent time, seems it has to be done again! I've always loved the Yale & it was just a happy accident that we caught Brickhouse there while we were visiting, but now I know what to plan for Sunday nights in Vancouver, whenever we're back ;).
